Navigating the postmodern landscape without losing your faith
I'm a native of St. Louis who moved to North Texas around 15 years ago. Hmmmm. I need to find a way to have Ted Drews and White Castles shipped to Cleburne! Oh well, I digress.
Blah, blah, blah. If you're not into biographical information, then I wouldn't bother reading much further. It's all about churches, interests, degrees, normal bio stuff. If you'd rather browse, feel free to begin right now.
Now, back to the normal bio stuff....
I am a single dad with a 23-year-old daughter who recently graduated with a degree in Psychology from the University of North Texas.
I received a B.A. in Religion from Missouri Baptist University (St. Louis) and moved to Kansas City to work on a Master of Divinity (Biblical Languages) from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (before the Fundamentalists had their heyday).
For the next 10 years I served in Southern Baptist churches in Missouri and Georgia.
In the late 1980s, I moved to Ft. Worth to work on a second master’s degree as well as a Ph.D. in Christian Education.
I've served as a teaching fellow, had curriculum published by Abingdon Press, book reviews posted on Circuit Rider, led numerous mission trips and have taught a college course or two on-line just for fun.
I enjoy watching movies with my daughter Leah, reading everything from Dan Brown, Michael Chrichton & Tom Clancy to Walter Brueggemann, N.T. Wright and Barbara Brown Taylor, attending ice hockey games, organizing inner-city mission trips and scouring the Internet.
I even do some freelance writing & blogging whenever I get the urge.
