Christianity became big business

Here's an interesting tidbit.

Historians of religion like to say that Christianity was born in the Middle East as a religion, moved to Greece and became a philosophy, journeyed to Rome and became a legal system, spread through Europe as a culture-- and when it migrated to America, Christianity became big business.

Wow.

It is interesting that the world likes Jesus, but not the ones for whom he died. I remember one time, a long time ago, when I was asked to leave a Church by petition, a man whom I thought was a family friend made the following statement to my wife and I: "Glenda, we love you and will miss you. The same is not true of your husband though." That reasoning didn't work well with my wife, since we are one, and neither, I suspect, does it work that great with Christ.
